XGP15A-II

Sometimes known simply as the XGP or as the Outlaw Star, the XGP15A-II is the ship that is used by Gene and his crew during the course of the Outlaw Star series to travel to different parts of the universe. The ship is closely tied to Melfina as she was designed specifically to function as its navigator. Moreover, the relationship between Melfina and the Outlaw Star is primarily made in order to allow for one to enter the Galactic Layline successfully. The XGP, then, can be thought of as the key to the ultimate goal of Gene and other characters in the Outlaw Star world, thus making it an integral part of the story.

The ship was built through a joint effort by the Space Forces and the Kei Pirates, a project overseen by Gwen Khan. The XGP is a grappler ship, with powerful arms and an arsenal of various weapons at the crew's disposal, when they can afford them. With the benefit of both ranged and close-quarters fighting capability, the XGP is formidable against one or multiple opponents. Its heart is the Gilliam II computer system, which converses openly with the crew and is able to perform various tasks, while in zero gravity, by the means of small robotic pods.
