Biography
Often known simply as "Nadir," Dark Nadir joined OutlawStar.net during the EZBoard Generation right after graduating high school in the summer of 2002. He currently serves as part of the administration of OutlawStar.net, along with Crimson, Laughing Hyena, Michael1123, and the head administrator, AKosygin.
History
Over the first few months of his time on the message board, Nadir created a number of popular threads and quickly made a name for himself on the board. Following this, Nadir was nominated as a moderator during the election that began August 5, 2002 [1]. Although he was not elected to moderator during this election, a number of people supported his nomination, among them several of the staff. After some discussion over the next few months via AIM with Michael1123 and then the senior administrator SSJVinnieG, Dark Nadir was officially made a moderator on February 6, 2003.
After being promoted to moderator, during the course of the year, a series of debates occurred between Nadir and members of the staff, most notably Jukai, Michael1123 and SSJVinnieG, in which Nadir criticized the harsh penalties being enforced on the board as a cause for a significant drop in active membership. Due to these mounting tensions and with arguments occurring within several threads on the board as well as over AIM between Nadir and other members of the staff, on August 8, 2003, Nadir announced his resignation, citing the stress of the numerous arguments with staff as the cause. After some discussion with the staff, however, Nadir reconsidered this resignation and decided to remain on, although commented that "I think I'll retire to just responding to others' threads, rather than creating my own," noting his overall dissatisfaction with what he considered an extremely negative atmosphere on the board.
On September 11, 2003, with both Michael and SSJVinnieG having been absent from the boards for a period of time, Laughing Hyena remained as the sole active administrator. Following a series of posts by users Lstorm, Cronus, and Zimed that were criticized as substandard by staff members, Laughing Hyena was advised by Jukai to ban them and the three users were banned on September 12. On September 15, with further problems occuring, and with Hyena's activity on the board not being frequent enough to handle all issues that were coming before the staff, Jukai made the suggestion that Nadir be given "emergency admin powers" until the return of other administrators. Later that day, Hyena promoted Nadir to administrator. On the 17th, AKosygin changed this appointment to a permanent position of administrator rather than merely temporary. However, in spite of this, after the return of both Michael1123 and SSJVinnieG on the 21st, Nadir was demoted back to moderator status. Professor Tim Osborne, who had been promoted to moderator during this time to replace Nadir, was demoted back to regular user status. Following this, Nadir was promoted and demoted between moderator and administrator status several times as SSJVinnieG and AKosygin disagreed over his competency as an administrator. AKosygin eventually agreed to SSJVinnieG's demands and Nadir was returned to moderator status. However, on the 29th, following the banning of SSJVinnieG, a call was made for a replacement administrator. Michael1123 and Laughing Hyena both cast votes calling for Nadir's reappointment to administrator status, along with the appointment of ssjinprincess and Professor Tim Osborne to permanent moderator status. By October 8, with the appointment of the two new moderators, Nadir was re-promoted to administrator and has held the title since then.

OutlawStar.net isn't the only community I frequent, but it is the one that I have been at the longest, not the mention the one I spend the most time at. This place has had its ups and downs for me, but I'm still here. Also here's some trivia about me that most of you already know, and that I'm putting up to take up space.
- I like to download. I really, really like to download. Hence, a while back I got a 250 gigabyte hard drive for Christmas, filled that up with anime, MP3s, and other junk, and then went and bought a 500 gigabyte hard drive. And as I suspected, a terabyte has followed. I think I need another one already.
- I'm currently studying Japanese in school. I'm good enough that I can communicate basic ideas, but my lifelong dream of watching Japanese movies and anime and understanding it all perfectly is still unfulfilled.
- Slowly but surely I'm also practicing the piano. I can play a few songs somewhat decently, but this is, like my Japanese, something I've got a long ways to go on.
- I am an aspiring attorney. As of this writing, I have just recently taken the LSAT and my results, despite much apprehension on my part, are decent enough to get me in to at least one of my choices. I will be applying for entrance to law schools very soon.
- A big reason for wanting to be a lawyer problem stems from the fact that I enjoy writing, debating, history and politics, which all have a way of tying into the law in some way or another when you stop and think about it. While I don't debate on OutlawStar.net (or the Internet in general) nearly as much as I used to, it is definitely a part of what makes me me.

Nadir is accomplished in his journey to understand the Japanese language; he can read, write and speak it well. In a time when most anime fans don't get past the English dub of their favorite shows, Nadir has proven himself to be a true connoisseur of Japanese culture. This makes his contributions to be community even more wide-reaching, and his efforts are much appreciated by his fellow posters. --- Crimson
